Protect Mode (2)

Recently, moderators were given the ability to use protect mode, and while that has been going well for the most part, there are a couple of issues.

Firstly, if a raid occurs but the bots do not talk, you should still use protect.

Secondly, protect should not be turned off as soon as the raid ends. That defeats the purpose of protect. The reason we use protect is to prevent a raid from happening. If a raid occurs and protect is used, you should not turn it off. It will automatically turn itself off after the hour is up.

The helpbot we have in place currently turns on protect when a raid is detected. However, it is not 100% accurate. It is okay to turn off protect in cases where a raid did not happen but the bot turned on protect.

Protect may be seen as annoying to some, but it does not prevent anyone from joining the chat and that’s what’s important.

These rules apply to owners as well.

If moderators or owners are not following these rules then there will be repercussions.
